A little playlist for an absence (again)

A little pop-in to tell I'm going to post seldomly in the month to come, as I've not much time on my hands, due of my partecipation to a big event next 20th-23th of October. The event is ABILMENTE – Workshop Show of Creative Manual Skills and I, along with other amazing crafters, am working very hard for the Atelier Etsy, planning everything from price tags to info ponts and exhibition dressing. I believe it is the very first ufficial Etsy event in Italy, hence we are all thrilled to be part of this and we want everything to be perfect! The atelier will have tables were we'll teach crafts, crates with our items to sell and two info points for people who want to learn about Etsy. So now, beside the event itself to organize, I have also to work to create as many items I can, along with DIY kits for the courses and to sell. I confess I'm a little stressing about all this, having bad sleep and all that. But I'll make it and possibily survive and even have a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to meet my dear mates in this journey, with which I'm sharing a lot lately, excitement and stress included :))
So, in the meanwhile, please accept this little playlist to lull your days on :)

[IT] Un salto da queste parti per avvertire che nel prossimo mese non sarò molto presente, dato che non avrò molto tempo perché parteciperò a un grosso evento il prossimo 20-23 ottobre. L'evento è ABILMENTE - Mostra Mercato della Manualità Creativa ed io, insieme ad altre fantastiche artigiane, sto lavorando duramente per l'allestimento dell'Atelier Etsy, mettendo insieme praticamente tutto, dalle targhette dei prezzi agli info point e la disposizione del materiale d'allestimento. Credo sia il primo evento Etsy ufficiale in Italia, quindi siamo veramente su di giri di fare parte di tutto ciò e vogliamo che ogni cosa sia perfetta :) L'atelier avrà dei tavoli dove terremo dei corsi, cassette della frutta messe in bella come espositori per i nostri oggetti e gli angoli delle informazioni dove racconteremo cos'è Etsy, come funziona, come si vende e come si compra. Quindi in questi giorni, oltre all'organizzazione di cui sopra, devo anche lavorare per creare tantissimi fiori e accessori ed anche dei kit DIY, sia per i corsi sia da vendere. Confesso che sono un po' stressata, dormo male e ho incubi tremendi (sic), senza contare un bel po' di ansia. Ma ce la farò! Oh se ce la farò :) sopravviverò e mi divertirò pure un sacco. Non vedo l'ora di incontrare le mie care compagne di viaggio con cui sto condividendo così tanto in questo periodo, eccitazione e stress inclusi :D
Quindi mentre questo blog sarà un po' lasciato a sé stesso (non troppo spero), accettate come pegno per la mia assenza questa piccola playlist per cullare le vostre giornate a venire :)

And this come in just the day when in the EtsyItaliaTeam forum there was someone craving (yes craving - or maybe just infestating the forum, not sure which is the right word) for deer antlers and deer heads mania. And what I found is cruelty free! So I say, dear someone, make it yourself and be happy (and let deers be happy too!)

Pin Cushion

Do you remember the last DIY for the weekend post? I had said I would make the pincushion and indeed, I made it - then i forgot XD it is not cute and perfect like the one of the DIY but still, I like it, it's tiny and cute and perfect for my smaller needles.

Plus! It is made almost entirely with repurposed material: in fact I used white cotton canvas from very old sheets and the filling is (I dare say) vintage wool, took from, once again, a very old pillow. The linen thread no, it's new. :P

It came out smaller than the one of the tutorial because - well, I made a mistake with the measures :P but as said, I wanted it to be tiny so it was still ok.
If you ever make one too please let me know!

[IT] Ricordate il post DIY for the weekend dell'ultima volta? Beh, io il puntaspilli l'ho fatto! non è uscito proprio uguale a quello del tutorial - perché ho sbagliato *coff* a prendere le misure per il cuscinetto *coff* quindi è venuto più piccino. Però è carinissimo lo stesso e perfetto per i miei aghi più sottili! Inoltre ho usato quasi tutto materiale recuperato: il cuscino è fatto con una tela di cotone di vecchie lenzuola (un tempo erano belle resistenti! erano quelle di mia madre, penso che non abbiano meno di 40 anni) e il riempimento è di lana rubata a un vecchio vecchissimo cuscino (idem come sopra). Il lino usasto per la parte all'uncinetto, no, è nuovo :))
Se lo farete anche voi fatemi vedere il risultato! sono curiosa :)

Autumn is approaching and I found a DIY springtime looking! On the other hand this blog is called Ethereal Flowers so I feel entitled to talk flowers any time of the year. Plus I need a pincushion, and when I saw this I loved it rightaway.

I've many coloured cotton yarns I bought in my crochet-fever period and I will use different colours from those of the photo to make this, but I'm looking forward to have it finished!

[IT] Ecco un paio di tutorial fiorosi per il vostro weekend - anche se l'autunno si avvicina abbiamo la primavera nel cuore giusto? e poi visto il nome del blog mi sento in diritto di parlare di fiori in qualsiasi stagione :P quindi... un puntaspilli delizioso che farò nel weekend perché mi serve assolutamente, e dei biscotti coi fiori, da usare come decorazioni ma anche da mangiare (dice, ma anche no XD ). Il puntaspilli meditavo di farlo monocolore con del filo di lino fantastico che non ho mai usato degnamente, mentre i biscotti... se qualcuno di voi li fa mi dite come sono venuti? si lo so, della serie armiamoci e partite ma non penso di accendere il forno per molto tempo ancora - o almeno finché il maledetto caldo non finirà - quindi se per caso vi capita di farli... ecco passate da qui a dirmi come sono venuti, grazie! :P

Jane Austen style

I'm a fan of Jane Austen, yes. I love her books and I keep reading them over and over again, they've a theraupeutic effect on me: if I read them before sleep, then I sleep well and have beautiful dreams (having sleep troubles since almost all my life that's super cool :))
Also, I love all of the british dramas inspired from her books, and lately I found one that is utterly amusing: Lost in Jane.

It's about a girl of this century obsessed with Pride and Prejudice; without telling you too much - she finds herself in the book, living the novel but not in the right way. I've watched the first two episodes (they're four total) and I'm loving it! It's amusing and absurd :D
Another mini-series you must watch if you love Jane Austen is Emma, from BBC; I thought it was brilliantly made, with amazing actors and fully representing Jane Austen books' spirit.
So this week styleboard was inspired by Jane Austen and regency fashion - with some licence :) all of the items below are handmade and I found them on Etsy, check their shops for more goodness!

[IT] Ebbene si, sono una fan di Jane Austen e leggo i suoi romanzi di continuo, anche perché hanno un effetto terapeutico su di me: se li leggo prima di andare a dormire avrò un sonno tranquillo e sogni felici. Per una che ha problemmi d'insonnia è una gran cosa! :D Inolte adoro tutte le trasposizioni televisive fatte nel regno unito, e recentemente ne ho scoperta una che mi era sfuggita: Lost in Austen. In realtà è più una rivisitazione, ma tant'è, ho visto due puntate su quattro e lo adoro! Parla di una ragazza dei nostri giorni ossessionata da Orgoglio e pregiudizio, e che, per ragioni che non sto qui a raccontare, si ritrova a vivere il romanzo... solo che le cose non vanno come devono andare, e si fa un gran ridere :)) davvero delizioso e divertente, una bella scoperta. Altra mini serie che consiglio vivamente agli amanti della Austen è Emma, della BBC: trasposizione davvero azzeccata, sia per gli attori, fantastici, sia per l'atmosfera che rispecchia fedelmente lo spirito austeniano. E quindi la styleboard di questa settimana è ispirata alla Austen, seppur con qualche licenza :) Tutti gli item qui sopra sono fatti a mano da creativi di Etsy, andate nei loro negozio per ulteriori bellezze!

Another week, another desktop wallpaper for you for the Flowery noontide series. No flowers though! This time I must thank Roberta as she suggested the theme (gothic/dark) - how did I do Rob??
I hope I haven't got too banal, but Edgar Allan Poe is probably the only gothic writer I ever read, hence after looking for nice gothic quotes around the web I just went with the ol' good The Raven. But my favourite poem by him is Annabel Lee, for which I might create another wallpaper in the future. That said, hope you like! :)

Other lives it's a band and it's my mood; I've been listening their last album almost non-stop since I discovered it. Then I found this photo of them on the Italian Vogue website and I loved it, I like the all black look and I love the woman style, she's dressed like the men but she's so feminine (and beautiful) anyway. Their Tamer animal album is amazing, maybe you already know this one

but I can assure you, every single track of the album is worth thousand listenings. And on a side note, the singer's voice is one of the sexiest voices ever, he's not really my type phisically but oh his voice! :))

I know I am boring with all this bitching about how hot it is here but I can't help: in this corner of Italy it is very hot and what everybody can talk about is how hot it is, the unbearable weather and how long will it last and so on. Oh yes, that and mosquitoes too. These are the hot topics around here. (Boring, yes). So I apologize with all the friends living up the northern regions of Earth, but I want Autumn so badly! And while daydreaming about that, I created an outfit for colder days to come :) (That's European handmade, baby! ;))

Lately I find myself in a over creative mood; I'm plenty of ideas and there's barely the time to transform them to reality - as unfortunately the day has just 24 hours and I've not a clone (well not yet but I'm hopefull the Science will do something about that soon). Popo isn't much of a helper too, as he can only sleep on my work table when I need it. So I must do my best to do as much as I can, dividing myself between the accessories shop and the design one; I had some months of black out for the digital design part but now it seems that everything came back, the enthusiasm, the will to create and the inspiration too.
Also Pinterest helps a lot, with tons of images, colors & shapes that makes me want to create every minute! And indeed, I found a few images that keep haunting me with their colors and fantastic patterns, and to get it out of my system (or risk insomnia forever) I decided to create wallpapers inspired to such pictures - and give them away on this blog :) I hope it gets a weekly agenda, but can't promise anything about that; inspiration strucks when it strucks! So be it, let's start the Flowery noontide* post series: ~~hopefully~~ every Tuesday around noon (CET) I'll release a wallpaper pack to download for free.

From tie to flower

Hello people! I'm here with some news for what will be up next in my shop :)
I wanted to create accessories for men since longtime but I couldn't figure out anything fitting my shop; then recently I've got the idea to create ruffly lapel pin flowers with vintage ties. Yes, flowers for men! Thats my dream came true :)) (actually women might like and wear them too, who am I to tell you what to like and wear? :P )
Anyway, here they are:

flowers and buttons in matching colours and fabrics; they're made with pure silk from vintage ties (from 60s to 80s). I must say they're better in person, I must take better photos - also I have more ties to use, with lovely patterns <3 and I'm looking forward to make more, it is so much fun! :)

Song to the siren

I've been a member of the EuropeanStreetTeam on Etsy for quite sometime now but I've never partecipated a lot in their activities because... well there's no real reason, apart for time being not enough to do everything I wish. They hold challenges hosted on members blogs and there too, I've never partecipated because... well, again - I'm no good at creating something upon a given theme, plus time being not enough, blahblah etcetera.
BUT few days ago I happened to stumble on this post by OnePerfectDays and discovered she had choosen the current challenge theme and it was Mermaids. I watched the beautiful pictures and I had a sparkle of inspiration: I was going to make a hat/fascinator. I've always wanted to make a hat fascinator but I've been always afraid to make a mess, I've always considerered myself not really able to do complicated/detailed works. I tend to minimalism and simplicity...
But now it was the time! I felt ready. I gathered scraps of precious fabrics I had saved for such an occasion, and started to play around. The colours were perfect, being those of the deep sea and sea life: deep blue for the base, aqua and a teal cady for scales, matching teal lace I cut out to get a foliage/alga shape and a sparkling iridescent lace to remind of coloured fishes and corals. For the flowers I used a sort of creased lining fabric which I love both for the color and the lightness. Once I've arranged and sewed everything in place (stitched every piece, collage style, no glue!) I added more details with iridescent beads in shades of blue and aqua and swarovski crystals for a bit of clear sparkle.

Then the fun part was over, and the boring one started: I hadn't those cute fascinator bases, so I decided to crochet mine; luckily I had a blue cotton matching perfectly with the fabrics I used! Once I made the round base I stitched the fascinator on and embroidered all around to cover the borders... that was the longest part to make, and I'm afraid it didn't came out perfectly :( But once I attached the alligator pin on the back I was satisfied with the result and proud of myself! Voilà a fascinator able to bring up the inner mermaid in any woman: every of us can be a misterious, charming, delicate but mischievious siren :)

To work on a piece about Mermaids brought up childhood memories long gone: one of the book I loved the most was The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. I believe this was the first fairytale to "disappoint" me, showing that not every story has a happy ending you expect it to have. I believe I cried many times when the little Mermaid gets transformed in sea foam because she couldn't make the Prince to love her and I learned then charming Princes can be utterly blind and stupid.

Apparently I had forgot that untill I tested this fact by myself. I could have saved so much time by reading the story as an adult!

And now a siren's song to end this very long post; if sirens existed their music would be just like that! Beware to not loose the course and crash on the rocks! :)

Flower Vision by Elsa Mora

You probably know already Elsa Mora (Elsita) amazing papercuts, she got quite famous I believe, and you can encounter those beauties on many blogs and websites and magazines. What you maybe don't know yet is that she crafts many other things, she has quite the "golden" hands and anything she makes turns out amazing. Among such other creations, I'm totally in awe for her miniature books: tiny precious illustrated stories, where the smallest details are carefully drawn, cut or painted, creating a wonderous mini-universe capable of the greatest power: to carry your imagination away just by the illustrations.
Among her many many creations there was one that struck me for the assonance of what I craft, flowers, and for the quotation she used. So there is, Flower Vision, by Elsa Mora: enjoy! :)

Do you like John Keats' poems? I do. Well not all of them - some are just too complicated or on the romantic-extreme side, but others, well I always marvel at how such a young man could write such wonderful words:

«Beauty is truth, truth beauty,»- that is all

I first "encountered" John Keats in school, I believe; eons ago. His poetry didn't strike me much, I was far more fascinated by all the decadent poets, Baudelaire, Rimbaud & Co. Only many years later I would be charmed by his story as well as his poetry, thanks of a sci-fi writer, Dan Simmons, who took great inspiration by JK's works for his four-books novel Hyperion Cantos. Beside being Dan Simmons a genius for mixing poetry, history, politcs, ecology, religious (and many more) themes into an amazing feasible fresco of human's future, he got my gratitude for rising John Keats' story and poetry to my attention. After that I would never pass Spanish Steps in Rome ever again without looking up at what was the room where John Keats died, I started to read his poems in english - which made them more beautiful that any translation - and appreciate his talent.
At last it came Bright Star, with its amazing visuals and romantic love story - and soon the John Keats 'fever' was back ;)
I knew his grave was in Rome and I never had the chance to go find it; but then I met Roberta and Daniela, they knew about it too, and wanted to go with me there again: it took us a while (first time we went the cemetery was closed!) but finally I took the train in a rainy day (being rainy an euphemism; how do you say? it did rain cats and dogs!), I've arrived in a cloudy but still sunny Rome, I met with Daniela e Roberta and we made it. Then it was a lovely day :)

The A-Catholic cemetery (or Protestant cemetery, but it's not quite fair because there are graves of any religion) in Rome is a green bubble of peace just in the chaotic middle of the city; it lies just on the back of the Pyramid of Cestius, at a five minutes walk from the Subway station (Metro B, the blue one, "Piramide" stop).
It is an old cemetery that has the highest concentration of VIP graves; it is well cared for, full of blooming flowers and trees

Besides John Keats' grave there is: the Joseph Severn's grave (just on the side of the JK's one),

the Percy Bysshe Shelley's one (we couldn't find it, ehm), the Antonio Gramsci's one

the note tells:
In memory of who always resembled to the words they said

the Emilio Gadda's one (I read about this on the website after going... will check the next time!) and many other VIPs of their time, scultors, writers, painters, notable and noble men and women, whom are mostly unknown words on stone by now. The eldest graves dates back from the 1740 on; many have crumbled away, and just a rough rock stays to spot the place.
We walked around looking for the strangest graves

laughing and pinpointing, or silently reading and wondering about the stories of the people whose lives are summarized in few lines, sometimes moving

sometimes outrageous (who'd want to have on his grave just the name of his or her profession along with dates of birth and death?!).
The graves of JK and Joseph Severn are on a separate zone of the main cemetery; it is a small park, with well cared grass, trees and plants, just on the back of the Pyramid, which is visible from there; there the graves are not clustered but there's much space between them, there are benches to sit and cool cats to keep you company :)

Roberta and Daniela told me we must come back in springtime, when the violets on the JK's grave are in bloom ("[...]Fast fading violets cover’d up in leaves; [...]"), and I'm sure it's quite a sight! I'm already looking forward to then :) It was lovely anyway, with all the green around, the blue sky above with white clouds running and the wind that rose for our relief.
So we sat there, on the bench just in front of the graves, and talked and laughed (that cat was a very funny one) and read Keats' poems - debated about the sentence Beauty is truth, truth beauty (what do you think does it mean?) and then talked about Emily Dickinson (Daniela knows her poems by heart!) and decided that if she and JK would ever had the chance to meet they would make a fine couple, because they shared the same sensibility and also wrote poems so peculiarly similar in the essence.
At last lunch time arrived, we were hungry and had to travel half the city to reach Daniela's place for lunch (a delicious vegan lunch was waiting for us!), so we said our goodbyes to Keats (the grave) and Keats (the cat) and sailed off for other fantastic adventures.

No not really, not yet. Well, not totally. It's just a playful experiment, prompted by EtsyItaliaTeam fellows; we're creating a gallery on flickr with the all of us wearing a mustache. Just for fun. Because we're silly. Because we despised the mustache trend for so long and at last we had to surrender to it. Anyway, I was greatly inspired by my team mates shots, so I took the opportunity to unleash the Hippie in Me, who was dormant since so long now, and have some self-ironic fun.

I've never lived in the 60s and 70s (or better, when I lived the late 70s I was just at toddler and I can't recall anything of them) but since my teenage years I've always had the myth of that period. NO, not about the rock and sex and drugs thing :) I loved the fashion and - i don't know - maybe the way of feeling, that sense of possibility that is now long lost.
For these shots I improvised a homemade 70s look (not that hard with hair like mine!) I used almost vintage ginormous sunglasses bought some century ago (late 90s, when there the 70s revival started again), a skinny headband I had crocheted for myself last year and my aqua flower bobby pins. Luckily Popo needed far less accessories! I have to say he wasn't complacent at all, he kept avoiding the mustache and going away, with air of disgust on his pretty muzzle. He clearly still despises it and can't understand this trend - or maybe he's just too proud of his whiskers to go around with a fake mustache.

All the world is green

Literally! :) next week it will be officially Summer and my little corner of the world is all green.
I'm lucky enough to live in a neighborhood full of trees and plants; as much as I can dislike the town where I live now (cultural happenings = 0), I can appreciate the attention given to the 'urban green'; in fact it's plenty of parks and trees and flowers everywhere. This is what I see from my bedroom:

I have linden trees in front of it and now they're blooming and the perfume is intoxicating! but I love it and I love it even more since I lived in a place where no trees were growing, and concrete was all around.
Here there are pinetrees, yasmine bushes, lime trees, and many more, and since my street's name is 'Oleander street', there are oleanders of all the colours all along.
And what about the birds singing? It's the best music ever! I don't know how could I survive in a place where the only noise was the train running and the buzz of railway wires.
Now each time the trees and plants start blooming and the green invades the streets, I have this song playing in the back of my mind:
...Pretend that you owe me nothing
And all the world is green
We can bring back the old days again
And all the world is green...

I was thinking about opening this blog series since a while and finally here I am: trying to explore the music world looking for artists who are near the handmade world.

I had this idea because I'm really into indie music, mostly folk, and it's not rare to read on musician's websites and blogs that they actually made the packaging of their self-produced albums by themselves, often with great results! Or also to see music videos with that handmade feeling, like you're watching an Etsy spot instead of a videoclip ;)

where's the third girl? I don't know but they got two twins instead!

I want to start this series with a group with a funny name: My Bubba & Mi.
They're three girls from Copenagen (actually they met there but two of them are not Danish) and they make lovely music, sweet, fun, sad sometimes, but amazing overall. They called their first album How it's made in Italy (and they're even nicer just for that :P ) and as I had read on their myspace they made the whole pakaging. And once you listened to their music you see that what they made it is just perfect for it!

While waiting for the next upcoming album, they released a single, whom cover has once again a delicious handmade taste:

Restyling and new graphics

Hello again there! finally i managed to finish the graphics of the blog! i'd say yay for me if it wasn't so long after i opened it :P but it wasn't all for bad after all since in the meanawhile i had changed the graphics of the website so i could match it without working on it twice :P
and i'm so satisfied with it that i made new business cards and stickers using the new style:

About these stickers, i had made them printed at Vistaprint, just a sheet to see how they'd come out and chosing the 7 days shipping (cheap but not that much, it was just a sheet!) but never received them :( after two months - which is the normal time to worry about non-delivered goods XD - i wrote to their customer care and they sent everything again with tracked mail and it arrived in 3 days. yey for Vistaprint! :) will order them again along with the business cards.

Graphics apart, i've also added the Blip.fm widget on the right column, if you're a music maniac as i am maybe you might like to check it out :)

Once upon a time... Valentine's day Origins.

I wrote this article for the EIT blog - this is the uncut version.

I still remember the first time I visited St. Valentine Church (in Terni, Italy), it was the 14th of February of many (many) years ago. I was a kid and I was so impressed by the huge crowd waiting to walk down the underground crypt in order to step by the altar and lay a kiss on the urn where the remains of the saint were lying since centuries. I remember the cold down there and the dim light, and above all, I remember the statue enclosing what was left of the Saint, I couldn't stop thinking: “That was a living man, once”.
Little I knew about the legend and history back then; I was just a child going to the annual pilgrimage to the church who hosted the patron saint of my town. For me it only meant a day off school with the pleasant thought of a street market just around the corner from where I lived, where I could buy doughnuts and lollipops in the strangest shapes and cotton candy and toys. What more than that could a kid want?
As I grew up I came to know more about this special day celebrated all over the world, and not only in my tiny town as I had once believed. It was pretty unavoidable to learn the stories about the famous Saint and also to marvel, later on, about how little known the origins of such a popular tradition are.

The Valentine's day was once a religious celebration which, like many others, got to replace a pagan festivity, the “Lupercalia”, the day of the year (15th of February) during which purification rites would take place to celebrate and favour the incoming fertility of springtime. Among the rites there was one which was highly despised by Christians: it was a kind of lottery where the names of the maidens were put in a bowl and picked by the young men. These couples would love each other during the festivities time or, other sources says, for one full year, until the next Lupercalia, when another lottery would take place.
We could cynically think that the first Christian authorities picked St. Valentine arbitrarily among other saints because he was executed on the 14th of February and created the legends around him to try and replace such rites and drive that primal kind of “love” linked to fertility and season rhythms towards a “purer” one (or better, a more suitable one for their religion).
We cannot know for sure: too many centuries have passed and after 1600 years the line between history and legend is too thin; the legends about this man, Valentine from Interamna (ancient name for Terni) are many, and every one about love. What we know for sure is that Valentine (born in Interamna Nahars, a.D. ~176 – dead in Rome, 14th February 273) was the Terni’s bishop and a Christian martyr, as he died because he refused to renounce his faith and become a pagan. He was flogged and beheaded by the order of Emperor Aurelian, who was continuing the Christians’ persecution started by his predecessor, Claudio II.
And what about the legends? One tells he married a dying Christian woman to his beloved roman (and pagan) centurion, against the will of the bride’s family; their love was so strong, the bishop had pity and agreed. Once Valentine pronounced them married, they both slipped into a peaceful sleep, which became death: they were together for eternity.

Another legend tells how he, while prisoner of a roman family, would grow attached to the blind daughter and make the miracle to give her back her sight. Then, when he was brought to be killed, he would send her a goodbye message ending with “from your Valentine” - which might be the origin of the love letters known nowadays as “valentines”.
What about today, in the town where Valentine's remains lie? Every year hundreds of couples from the neighborhood and from all over Italy (and sometimes from abroad too) gather in Terni, in St. Valentine's church, for the “Feast of the Promise”, during which they make their promise of eternal love in the presence of the Saint's relics, and get blessed by the Bishop.
It's nice to believe that Valentine will protect them and make their love last and be strong against any trouble.

As for myself, I continue to be attracted by the street market that every year still takes place around the corner from where I live; the only difference is that I go there to look for handmade goodies instead of lollipops and cotton candy :)

Tales of music and other dreams

I feel so inspired lately and i've been making things quite different from my usual style - if what i had was a style. i think i'm still looking for my unique way to create craft, so this is experimenting, again.
i had fun with natural dyes and hammering and the result (heavily inspired by electro-folk music i've been listening since months now, hence the title of the "collection") is something i feel nearer to what i am now and what i like than anything i made previously.
To celebrate this changes (and to test a new selling platform called Blomming) i'm selling these items here on my blog for a few days, ~~at a special price :)~~

I have to say, I like this sort of things because *no, it's not because I like to win awards* I'm always so curious about the lovely people I met online and this is a way to discover something more about them.
Anyway let's cut the chats and go to the rules:

Here my 7 things:
1) I've aracnophobia, I shiver and scream at the sole sight of a spider, the horror is so huge the scream usually comes out voiceless. Weeks ago I was at this restaurant and a spider came out under one of my friend's plate and I was blocked between the table and the wall. I.WAS.FREAKING.OUT. Luckily my friend doesn't hate spiders and he caught it with BARE hands (yeah he's an hero!) and put it away, far far away from me.
2) I talk with my cat all the time and he replies back, sometimes. When he feels like.
3) I like to give silly nicknames to friends. The ones I like the most are those ending with "etto" (or "etta" for the women), so I'm plenty of friends I call that way, like Simonetto, Luchetto, Claudietta. They take their vengeance by calling me Franka, which is just horrible.
4) I don't have the driving licence, I'm so clumsy I'm sure if I ever get to drive I'd kill myself or worse, someone else.
5) I'm a music geek. I listen to music 24/24 *ok not really, lets say 12/24* and 7/7 and I'm on like 88492738 music sites. *Blip.fm anyone?*
6) Even thought I like jewels I don't wear any. And I keep buying them.
7) I don't have holes in my hears. These days I'm making new items for my shop and among them there are earrings and see, I can't really know how they wear *ahem*.

That's all. Well, no it's not, but I'll leave all the morbid things for the Morbid Blog Award :P

Some of them where supplies, other special things I have to blog about in the next days, then I got finally the business cards for my etsy shop and cherry on top, I finally got these fabulous pin buttons by the lovely SoleDeVita:

They're just stunning!! first thing, they are large! I hadn't paid attention to the measures - being so busy trying to choose a design among so many beautiful ones, it was so hard! - so I thought they were the smaller ones. But no!!
Second, the texture is amazing and unfortunately photos can't fully rend it - the pic above is from her shop, I tried to capture them but with worse results:

And she sent a postcard of her country hand written on the back too, which again, amazed me, because it gives a personal touch and human contact to all this internet thing, I loved to see where she lives and works and create her unique pins!
So, I've decided I want to collect them, because they're unique and beautiful. I want them all, mwahahah!!

[ENG] I love ffffound because it's my main source for inspiration: when I'm in need of beauty or creativity I go there and I'm sure I'll find amazing pics.
Hence I decided I'll make a weekly post with some of my founds in there. Yeh! :)

My first wholesale order

I'm working at my first wholesale order. A lovely lady from Baltimore US wants a large number (the larger I can make with the vintage fabric I have) of golden green flowers to use for the packages of her amazing jewelry and I'm so excited and honoured!

so I'm halfway over with it, and I'm looking forward to finish it and send them all overseas!

welcome random visitor! this is my blog and it's work in progress!
haven't found the time yet to fix the header and the layout and *ehm* everything - but it will be finished soon! :)
i decided i will start to post anyway, because if i keep procrastinating i know i won't put myself at work on it.
so i'm francesca i'm italian, i'm a webdesigner and i'm a crafter. the last one is a recent condition i hope it will become permanent :)
